Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training
Cardiac arrest is a medical emergency demanding swift action to prevent loss of life. With prompt medical care aimed at restarting the heart, survival becomes a possibility.
Critical decisions must be made rapidly to identify and evaluate a cardiac emergency, call medical assistance, and administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). These actions significantly enhance the likelihood of survival for an unconscious individual experiencing irregular breathing.
Our CPR course is designed to equip you with these vital skills, aligning closely with the guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council. Participants will learn essential techniques such as operating an automated external defibrillator (AED), effectively rotating first aiders to minimize disruptions to chest compressions, and managing situations where the casualty regurgitates or vomits.
Furthermore, the course delves into the importance of accurately conveying incident details to emergency services, conducting incident reports to identify areas for improvement, recognizing potential psychological impacts on oneself and fellow rescuers, seeking assistance when needed, and enhancing personal skills and response times.
First Aid (Including CPR)
This first aid course (including CPR) provides comprehensive instruction and hands-on training tailored to meet legal, workplace, and community standards, as well as guidelines from the Australian Resuscitation Council and other national clinical bodies. Participants will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to promptly recognize emergencies and deliver immediate and effective first aid to individuals experiencing sudden illness or injury.
Covering a wide range of essential topics, the course includes assessing the casualty, ensuring safety for both the responder and the injured party, contacting emergency services, and utilizing available resources to administer first aid. Techniques taught encompass cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of a defibrillator, administering autoinjectors for anaphylaxis, delivering asthma medication, assisting individuals who are choking, employing appropriate immobilization methods for various injuries including envenomation, fractures, dislocations, sprains, and strains, as well as managing non-life-threatening bleeding and shock.
Participants will also gain insights into basic anatomy and physiology, understanding the nuances between providing CPR to adults, children, and infants, recognizing the critical components of the chain of survival, mastering written and verbal incident reporting protocols, conducting incident reviews to enhance personal skills and response times, identifying potential psychological impacts on themselves and others, and knowing when to seek assistance when needed.
